The USAAF B-2 winter flying cap proved to be very popular in WW2 with American airman and can be seen on many original USAAF pictures of aircrew.
Officially called the "Cap, Flying, Winter, Type B-2" it was issued and standardised in April 1939. They where issued to U.S.A.A.F. aircrew including bomber crews.
The outer is leather and the liner is imitation "shearling" which is reversed sheepskin. The WW2 B2 leather hat has a fold up flap around the sides and back which could be worn up exposing the shearling or worn down to cover the ears and the back of the neck.
The B2 leather cap has a small USAAF logo stamped on the side of the hat, on the outside.
Features:
- Stiff leather peak is trimmed with leather hide.

- Imitation Shearling (sheepskin) lined 1/4" thick so it is the correct tight finish.
- U.S.A.A.F. logo on the outside.
